Roos rise to the challenge

Tumbarumba has taken out the double of the Upper Murray league's senior football and A grade netball premierships this afternoon, with both wins coming against Cudgewa. The Blues kicked the first goal of the match but the Roos soon got their mojo working to establish a handy lead in the first half but inaccurate shots on goal kept the opposition in the hunt. The Blues had kicked seven goals straight to sneak back within 10 points in the third quarter but the Roos weren't to be denied and finished with a flurry of majors to secure the flag. The man of the match was league best & fairest winner Jacob Read who kickstarted many of the Roos' forward raids.

Cudgewa shot from the blocks in the netball decider and were still a chance in the last quarter but the Roos powered away in the latter stages to post a 49-39 victory. Best-on-court was Tumba goal shooter Charlee Blencowe.
