Member for Benambra, Bill Tilley, wants to hear from people who feel they are not getting all the help they need with recovery from the summer bushfires.
Mr Tilley said his office was fielding an increased level of inquiry from people in the Upper Murray, particularly in relation to the clean-up and fence restoration but fears this is just the tip of the iceberg. 
“Last week Victorian Emergency Services Minister, Lisa Neville, said 79 of the 178 properties affected by the fires in Towong had been cleaned up,” he said.
“That’s an improvement on the snail-paced progress in previous months but anecdotally people are feeling forgotten and left out.
“It means that five months later there are still 100 properties outstanding. 
“Back in January I raised this as a possibility – experience tells me this happens, everyone is up and about when the fire is raging and the smoke is in the air and then slowly, they lose focus.
“There are issues around internal fencing and burnt tree lines close to boundary fences.”
Mr Tilley will raise the issue with the Minister in the Victorian Parliament next week but wants to hear from others who are still awaiting previously promised support.
