Event shines a healing light on hardship
The community is being invited to a gathering next week to support and connect with local families who have endured hardship on different levels in the past few years, particularly those who have been affected by suicide.
The second annual ‘Corryong Spirit’ event will shine a light into the darkness of grief and guest speakers include James Gallacher from ‘Roses in the Ocean’ and country singer Melinda Schneider, who will also be performing.
‘Corryong Spirit’ is an opportunity to acknowledge those whose lives were lost in our community and come together by the warmth of the firepits to reflect on our own hardships that we have endured.
The event will be held on August 11th from 5pm to 7pm in the Attree Centre.
Bring a chair, or picnic rug and warm blankets and beanies. Food and beverages will be available.
Join in for spring breeding
The Walwa and Tumbarumba veterinary practices, in conjunction with Zoetis, are offering local cattle producers an opportunity to come together and hone their knowledge ahead of the upcoming beef breeding season.
Following on from last year’s popular session on calving management, this year’s event will focus on key topics including prevention and management of reproductive diseases, bull preparation, best practice herd health, and biosecurity.
Principle veterinarians of the practice, Dave Hall and Sarah Albert, say the event will be a great chance for local producers to gather and socialise while brushing up on the essentials prior to the spring joining season.
The event will be held at Jingellic on August 9th at 6pm (see advert on page 7 for details).
